MNJTF Eliminates Boko Haram Terrorists in Sustain Operations in Cameroon
The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) Sector 1, stationed in Mora, Cameroon, has achieved significant success in its ongoing efforts to combat Boko Haram terrorism. In two separate operations conducted on April 15 and April 22, 2024, MNJTF troops neutralized a total of three Boko Haram terrorists.
The first operation took place in the border community of Zigue on April 15, where MNJTF forces executed a well-coordinated ambush, resulting in the elimination of one terrorist. Continuing their relentless pursuit, the troops engaged in an early morning encounter near the Cameroon-Nigerian border in Soueram on April 22. During this operation, they successfully neutralized an additional two Boko Haram terrorists.

The MNJTF expressed its gratitude to local communities for their unwavering support and valuable information, which have played a crucial role in these achievements. As the MNJTF remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding the Lake Chad basin, it calls for continued community cooperation to eradicate the menace of terrorism from the region.
Recovered Weapons:
The successful operations also led to the recovery of essential weaponry from the terrorists. Among the seized items were:
– One PKM Machine Gun
– One AK-47 rifle
– Five magazines
– Twenty rounds of 7.62mm ammunition
Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, the Chief Military Public Information Officer, emphasized the importance of community collaboration and urged residents to remain vigilant. The MNJTF’s collective resolve remains unwavering as it strives to ensure peace and security in the Lake Chad basin.
