The symposium will delve into the socioeconomic dimensions of these challenges and identify near-term opportunities to enhance stability in Northern Nigeria.

The US Institute of Peace aims to broaden knowledge on conflict prevention in the region. Non-violent strategies for engaging armed groups will be explored as alternatives for conflict resolution. Dr. Joseph Sany, Vice President of the Africa Center for the US Institute of Peace, will anchor the strategic engagement. The symposium also emphasizes policy coordination and effective management of peace and stability in Nigeria.

This event, which concludes on April 25, 2024, reflects the ongoing efforts of northern governors, particularly those from the northwest, to collectively shape a regional development agenda.
