Saudi Arabia Executes 98 Food, Health Projects Worth N56bn in Nigeria

Saudi Arabia Executes 98 Food, Health Projects Worth N56bn in Nigeria

In recent years, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has executed 98 projects in Nigeria valued at $47,194,210 equivalent to N56,56,633,052,000.

The projects are in the areas of food security, health, early recovery, sanitation and hygiene, education and charitable assistance, according to Mr. Faisal Ebraheem Alghamdi.

Ghamdi, who is the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Nigeria, disclosed this in Abuja on Friday, during a symbolic presentation of another 50 tons of date palms to the Federal Government.

The donated item is meant for Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, and victims of other natural disasters in Nigeria.

The Saudi envoy presented cartons of the gifted dates to the representative of FG, Ambassador Murtala Jimoh, Deputy Director, Middle East and Gulf Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He said: “The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Abuja, announces that the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – as part of its continued commitments that focus on alleviating the suffering of all people in distress, and to fulfil its humanitarian pioneering role all over the worlds – has handed over 50 tons of dates to the friendly and brotherly Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, in addition to 50 tons of dates distributed in Kano on Wednesday 24/4/2024, make it 100 tons of dates.

“Over the years, the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), has been providing necessary humanitarian assistance to the Federal Republic of Nigeria at different fields; the most recent is the execution of Et’am 3 Initiative in March 2024 through distribution of food baskets to 5,606 beneficiaries in Kano, Jigawa, Katsina, Borno and Abuja, at the cost of $400,000.

“This and more represent the commitment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in strengthening the bilateral relations between our two countries at all levels; and the Kingdom is committed to continue to provide all necessary humanitarian relief and aids to Nigeria, for the betterment and interest of the brotherly and friendly Nigerian people”.
