The Correctional Centres in Kano are engaging inmates in handworks, skill acquisition, and trades, such as the production of local hand fans (MUFICE), which has attracted high patronage from the public. The Command appreciates the support from the people of Kano State and beyond, who come to purchase products made by inmates.
The Nigerian Correctional Service Act 2019 provides inmates with opportunities to enroll in formal and informal educational programs, as well as other empowerment programs. Upon release, inmates are provided with aftercare materials to ensure a smooth reintegration into society.
“We are committed to empowering our inmates to become law-abiding citizens and productive members of society,” said SC Musbahu Lawan, Kano State Command Public Relations Officer. “We are proud of the progress our inmates have made and appreciate the support from the public.”
