Hajj 2024: NAHCON Airlifts 20,975 Pilgrims in 12 Days with 7 States Completed
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has successfully airlifted a staggering 20,975 Nigerian Muslim pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage.
The Economic Confidential reports that on the 12th day of the airlift, Maxair transported 8,708 pilgrims, Flynas, 8,881 pilgrims, and Airpeace, 3,386 pilgrims.
Seven states, including Nasarawa, Kogi, Oyo, Ogun, Bauchi, Edo, and Plateau, have successfully completed the airlift of their pilgrims. Additionally, Kebbi, Lagos, Yobe, and Plateau states are making significant progress and are close to finishing the airlift, with over 90% completion.
So far, 8,191 pilgrims are in Madina, while 12,784 are in Mecca, having been transported to destinations to the airports in Madina and Jeddah through the 50 flights conducted.
