Hajj 2024: NAHCON Airlifts 30,599 Muslim Pilgrims in 73 Flights to Saudi Arabia

Hajj 2024: NAHCON Airlifts 30,599 Muslim Pilgrims in 73 Flights to Saudi Arabia

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has successfully airlifted a staggering 30975 Nigerian Muslim pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage.

The Economic Confidential reports that on the 16th day of the airlift, Maxair transported 13,117 pilgrims, Flynas, 12,609 pilgrims, and Airpeace, 4,873 pilgrims.

Nine states, including Nasarawa, Kogi, Oyo, Ogun, Bauchi, Edo, Plateau, Yobe, Osun and Lagos have completed the airlift of their pilgrims. Additionally, FCT, Kebbi and Borno states are making significant progress and are close to finishing the airlift, with over 90% completion.

So far, 10,302 pilgrims are in Madina, while 20,297 are in Mecca, having been transported to destinations to the airports in Madina and Jeddah through the 73 flights conducted.

1. Flights and Pilgrims:
– Total Flights: 73 flights were conducted.
– Total Pilgrims Airlifted: 30,599 pilgrims were transported.
– Destinations:
– Madinah: 64 flights landed in Madinah, carrying 26,396 pilgrims.
– Jeddah: 9 flights landed in Jeddah with 4,203 pilgrims.

3. Gender Breakdown:
– Males: 18,557 males have been successfully airlifted.
– Females: 12,042 females have also been transported.

4. Airline Contributions:
– Maxair: Maxair has airlifted 13,117 pilgrims.
– Flynas: Flynas contributed by transporting 12,609 pilgrims.
– Airpeace: Airpeace facilitated the journey for 4,873 pilgrims.

5. States’ Progress:
– Completed Airlift: – Nasarawa, Kogi, Oyo, Ogun, Bauchi, Edo, Plateau, Yobe, Osun and Lagos completed the airlift of their pilgrims.

– Near Completion: FCT, Kebbi, Borno states are close to completing the airlift, with over 90% progress.
