Hajj 2024: NAHCON Completes Airlift of Muslim Pilgrims from 14 States, Including Lagos and Kano to Saudi Arabia
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has successfully airlifted 35,810 Nigerian Muslim pilgrims from 14 states to Saudi Arabia for the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage. According to the Economic Confidential, 14 states – Nasarawa, Kogi, Oyo, Ogun, Bauchi, Edo, Plateau, Yobe, Osun, Lagos, Benue, Ekiti, Ondo, and Kano – have completed the airlift of their pilgrims as of the 19th day of the operation.

Additionally, FCT, Kebbi, Borno, and Kaduna states are nearing completion, with over 90% of their pilgrims already airlifted.
A total of 85 flights were conducted, transporting 9,302 pilgrims to Madina and 26,508 to Mecca.
The breakdown by gender shows 21,919 males and 13,891 females were transported for the Islamic pilgrimage. NAHCON continues to ensure a seamless and efficient Hajj experience for Nigerian pilgrims.
PRNigeria reports that 74 flights landed in Madinah with 30,788 pilgrims, while 11 landed in Jeddah with 5,022 pilgrims.
