The Governor also paid the transportation fees for the released inmates to return to their homes. The decisions were based on the inmates’ health status and their demonstrated rehabilitation.

The Controller of Corrections, Mr. Danmairomu Shuaib Ayodeji, expressed gratitude to the Governor for his kindness and encouraged the released inmates to be worthy ambassadors of their families and not return to criminal behavior.

He also commended the Controller General of Corrections, Haliru Nababa, and the State Ministry of Justice for their support in reducing congestion in the custodial centers.
