CNS Ogalla Unveils New Apartments for Senior Ratings in Abuja

The Nigerian Navy on Wednesday inaugurated 36 new apartments for Senior Ratings to boost the welfare of its personnel.

The Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, who commissioned the apartments in Abuja, said the new housing complex comprises six blocks, offering a mix of 12 spacious three-bedroom units and 18 two-bedroom apartments.

During the inauguration, Ogalla said, “These quarters demonstrate our commitment to enhancing the welfare of our Navy personnel.”

While speaking to newsmen, Commodore Tanko Lengaya, Commander of the Naval Unit Abuja, said the apartments signify a new development.

He highlighted that accommodation had been a major concern for naval personnel prior to the current CNS’s tenure in office.

Located in Kubwa, he said, “This housing project is part of a nationwide initiative to provide Senior Ratings with proper and comfortable living spaces.

” This will go a long way in reducing the challenges of accommodation for the ratings, and this will be permanent accommodation for the senior rates,” he said.

The commander said that the presence of navy personnel in the Kubwa area would assist in coordinating security in the area.

He congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to take good care of the accommodation.
