Miss Heritage Pledges Mentorship Programme for Nigerian Women, Partners PRNigeria Ladies

Beauty Queen, Tracy Solomon, the reigning Miss Heritage International 2023-2024, has pledged to organise a mentorship programme for Nigerian women in collaboration with PRNigeria Ladies to encourage their participation in beauty pageant events.

Miss Tracy made this known on Monday in Abuja during a courtesy visit to Image Merchant Promotions Limited (IMPR), the publishers of PRNigeria, Economic Confidential, and other titles.

The beauty queen, who is also the Executive Director of Improved Child Education in Africa, pledged to carry out an advocacy for Nigerian women within the period of one year, stating that her four-point agenda includes Drug Abuse, Climate Change, Human Trafficking, and Menstrual Hygiene.

While fielding questions from her hosts, she however admitted that the fight against female genital mutilation is as important as the four points above. She therefore promised to include it in her agenda.

Meanwhile, Miss Tracy has already begun the advocacy at Government Junior Secondary School, Apo Legislative Quarters, Abuja, where she sensitised children about the importance of menstrual hygiene and climate change’s impact on their future.

She encouraged Nigerians to join her in advocating for these critical issues, stating, “It’s not just a queen’s responsibility, but a collective duty as women.”

“I don’t joke about my heritage because it implies preserving the past and saving the future. This project aims to reach schools across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, promoting education, menstrual hygiene, environmental conservation, and combating female genital mutilation,” she noted.

In the same vein, she emphasised the importance of afforestation due to climate change and addressing drug abuse among youths.

“The project’s scope spans the entire country, focusing on the grassroots to reach vulnerable, voiceless in rural communities. It aims to inspire future generations to prioritise these critical issues and become change-makers. As Miss Heritage International, our role goes beyond wearing a crown; we advocate for a better future for our people,” she said.

The CEO of IMPR, Mallam Yushau Shuaib, commended the beauty queen for her elegance, charm, brain, sincerity of purpose and interest in the plight of Nigerian girls.
