South West Muslim Community Declares Loyalty, Support for Sultan of Sokoto
Muslims from South Western states of Nigeria under the agies of Amalgamation of muslims’ Rights concerned, have pledged allegiance, total support, unconditional obedience, loyalty and submission to the commands of Allah, prophet Muhammad, and Ameerul mu’meneen, the sultan of Sokoto.
According to Secretary of the group, Imam Billal Akinola Oseni, the pledge and support became necessary following a rumoured news item emanating from the seat of the government of Sokoto state in the likely modification of the status regulating the establishment, powers, functions and all other ancillary matters relating to the office of the sultan of Sokoto which by the requirements of the Sunnat of our noble prophet Muhammad sallalahu alaehi doubles as the commander of the Muslim faithfuls in the whole of Nigeria (Ameeral mu’meneen).
“As Muslims, we are instructed to follow the path of Allah Zuljalaal Walikraam as contained in the glorious Quran, choicelessly and unquestionably, thus Muslims are required as a matter of duty and obligations to harmonize their wills and desires to correspond with the messages of the glorious Quran and living examples of our noble prophet Muhammad sallalahu alaehi wasallam.

“Our noble prophet Muhammad sallalahu alaehi wasallam was reported saying that for every groups of twios, threes, fours and more there must be among them a leader an Ameer, under whom they operate their religious affairs for as long as the said Ameer behaves according to the dictates of Allah azza wa jalla and the Sunnat of His noble prophet Muhammad sallalahu alaehi wasallam,” he said.
The group likened the Ameerul mu’meneen, Sultan Abubakar III, to a symbol of Allah, whereupon Allah subhaanahu wa taha’la instructs muslims to honour and commemorate His symbols and that anyone found doing that is counted among the pious servants of Him and in addition will find a good reward established for him in the presence of Him.
The group explained that; ” Considering the pedigree of the Sultan Shaykh Abubakr Sa’ad IIIsince his assumption of the coveted stool ,the Ummat had witnessed a tremendous progress in her spiritual development throughout the the country .
“It is therefore no gain saying that these monumental achievements by the Ummat had drawn the wrath of Shaytan and is finding all possible ways to poison the mentality of the Ummat and reset our mindset to cause hatred, acrimony and disaffection amongst all the Muslims groups and individuals.”
The group therefore called on Muslim in Sokoto state under the able leadership of the sultan and the Governor of Sokoto state “to be wary of the mischief of archevil Shaytan and her cohorts whose main preoccupation is to mislead the Ummat by infiltrating their ranks and unity with all sorts of divisive satanic incursions and influences.
“And pray to Allah for continued blessing on the Ummat and make it prevail over whatever evil machinations the Shaytan is hatching to extinguish the light of Islam.”
