UPDATE: NCoS Seeks Citizens’ Supports in Recapturing Prison Escapees
In a press release issued by its Spokesperson, Abubakar Danlami Umar, the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has informed the public about the escape of several inmates from the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Suleja, close to Federal Capital Territory FCT, Abuja.
The incident occurred on April 24, 2024, when a heavy downpour caused the collapse of the facility’s perimeter wall, leading to the escape of the prisoners. The Correctional Service has deployed both overt and covert strategies to recapture the escapees, who are now considered a threat to public safety and national security.

The information of the fugitives has been made public in an effort to aid their recapture. The public is urged to cooperate with the authorities and report any sightings of the escapees to the nearest security agency or through the provided contact information.
