NAHCON Chairman’s EFCC Invitation Sparks Outpouring of Support
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support shown to its Chairman, Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi, after he was invited for questioning by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Arabi was invited on June 29 to answer questions related to the conduct of the 2024 Hajj. While the development raised concerns among friends and well-wishers, NAHCON reassured stakeholders that the invitation was a normal process to safeguard public interest and did not constitute an indictment.

In a statement by its Spokesperson, Mrs Fatima Sanda Usara, the Commission pledged full cooperation with investigative bodies and appreciated the outpouring of support for its Chairman. NAHCON reaffirmed its commitment to upholding integrity and ethics, prioritizing pilgrims’ interests, and maintaining trust and confidence in the government.
The Commission also commended the Federal Government’s resolve to entrench accountability and the EFCC’s commitment to safeguarding public funds through ethical practices and compliance with laws and regulations.
NAHCON assured that the matter would be resolved promptly, reaffirming its adherence to transparency, lawful, and ethical standards.
