Special Duties New PS Assumes Office, Calls for More Efforts
Dr. Maryam Keshinro, the new Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs (FMSDIGA), has urged staff to intensify their efforts to achieve the Renewed Hope Agenda of the current administration. She made this call on Monday in Abuja during a handover ceremony, where the outgoing Permanent Secretary, Ibiene Roberts, transferred leadership to her.
“Today is not a speech-making event, but a call to duty. I implore the management and staff to support me in delivering on the ministry’s vision and mandate, aligned with Mr. President’s 8-point Agenda and the Renewed Hope Agenda,” Dr. Keshinro said.

She praised the outgoing Permanent Secretary, saying, “I’m not here to reinvent the wheel but to build on the legacy of the good work you’ve done in this Ministry.” She also emphasized the continuation of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP25), aimed at transforming the Nigerian Civil Service through capacity building and innovation.
Dr. Keshinro reminded staff to adhere to the Public Service Rules and extant circulars in their conduct and operations. The outgoing Permanent Secretary, Ibiene Roberts, reflected on her two-year tenure, acknowledging the challenges she faced and the achievements made possible through hard work and staff support. She highlighted the ministry’s shift from merely certifying projects to actual execution.
The handover ceremony culminated in the transfer of notes from the outgoing to the incoming Permanent Secretary.
