General Musa Pledges to Restore Peace in Katsina, Seeks Citizen’s Support
The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has assured the people of Katsina State of the military’s commitment to restoring peace and security in the region.
Musa who spoke during a visit to Katsina State on Tuesday, emphasized the importance of citizen’s support in achieving this goal.
He acknowledged the state government’s efforts in combating insecurity, including the establishment of the Katsina Community Security Watch.
Musa noted that security personnel cannot be everywhere. He therefore appealed for the cooperation of all citizens in providing information and support to security agencies.

The CDS said his visit to Katsina was part of operational tour of the North Western region to assess the security situation.
He commended Governor Dikko Radda for his initiatives, including the Community Development Programme, which aims to involve local communities in enhancing safety across the state.
Responding, Governor Dikko Radda, emphasised the need to establish a military base in the southern part of the state to address ongoing security challenges.
He said, “We have concluded arrangements to train another set of community watch corps to operate in 10 additional local government areas, augmenting the 1,466 personnel already on the ground.
“This programme includes a 25-member committee responsible for identifying areas of need and exposing criminals and their accomplices,” he explained.
