How Newly Hired Teenage Housemaid Stole $21,000 Within a Week

In a shocking revelation, a 17-year-old girl from Kaduna State, employed as a housemaid in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, has stolen $21,000 from her employer within one week of her employment.

PRNigeria values the amount involved to over N35,000,000 using the current exchange rate.

The narrator, who posted the video on TikTok, speaking in Hausa said that hunger in the country does not justify the act, stating that the huge amount was stolen within just four days of her employment.

“This young woman was employed as a housemaid and stole $21,000 within four days. When questioned about the money, she claimed to have purchased kitchen utensils, gifted some, and bought gold jewellery with part of the funds.

“While acknowledging the prevalence of hunger in the country, stealing such a substantial amount tarnishes not only one’s reputation but also that of their parents,” the narrator said.

On the whereabouts of the money, the girl confessed, “I spent the money on various items. After stealing the funds, I travelled to Kaduna and purchased kitchen utensils, gifted some, and bought gold jewellery with part of the money.’

“I gifted a second-hand clothing dealer N400,000, bought a phone worth N260,000, earbuds costing N30,000, and utensils valued at N3,000,000 – without giving my parents a single penny”.

The narrator seeked opinion from viewers on appropriate disciplinary action that should be taken against the teenage offender.
