Bathlomew Ebika: Young Nigerian Innovator, Earns National Interest Waiver and Research Appointments in US

Bathlomew Ebika, a trailblazing engineer from Nigeria, has made remarkable strides in his quest to revolutionize engineering and research in the United States. His impressive accomplishments have earned him the prestigious United States National Interest Waiver (NIW) for exceptional ability, allowing him to bypass traditional immigration barriers due to his significant contributions to the field.

Bathlomew’s journey began with a Bachelor of Engineering (B. Eng) in Electrical Engineering from a Nigerian university, after which he pursued a Master’s degree in Systems and Control Engineering at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) in the U.S. There, he distinguished himself in additive manufacturing and predictive modeling—fields crucial to modern technological advancement.

Tech Digest gathered that his innovative spirit culminated in the development of a groundbreaking machine learning model designed to accurately predict bead height in 3D printing processes. This innovation is currently in the patent application stage and holds promise for advancing manufacturing applications across various industries.

Bathlomew’s exceptional skills and dedication led him to become a Co-Investigator for NASA’s U.S. Research Collaboration (USRC) in 2023, participating in a pioneering research project that aims to push the boundaries of space exploration technology. Additionally, he contributes as a researcher in the National Science Foundation’s $25 million NSF-HAMMER program, where he is instrumental in designing a state-of-the-art open-source additive manufacturing machine slated for deployment at several institutions across the United States.

His expertise spans control systems, the Internet of Things (IoT), machine learning, and biomedical engineering. As a result of his impressive portfolio, Bathlomew secured a full-time research position as an Engineer 1 in Biomedical Engineering at CWRU, where he actively participates in shaping the future of science and engineering.

In just a few short years, Bathlomew Ebika has rapidly ascended to the pinnacle of his field, achieving what many can only aspire to—becoming a pivotal innovator with a global impact. His journey serves as an inspiring testament to the power of talent, perseverance, and the boundless possibilities available to the next generation of engineers and researchers.
