IPRA Golden World Awards 2024: Peru Takes Grand Prix, Croatia Makes Waves
The Grand Prix 2024 of the IPRA Golden World Awards for Excellence (GWA), the world’s most prestigious PR awards scheme, went to “Pots That Develop” countering rural food poverty.
The campaign from Peru’s Alicorp was given a PR boost by agency LLYC featuring it within the local SUMMUM national gastronomy awards. The Grand Prix was given at the IPRA GWA Gala in Belgrade attended by 140 participants from 26 countries stretching from the UK via Nigeria to Indonesia and Japan.
Also announced on the night was the prestigious Global Contribution Award for PR with an objective of meeting one of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. “Recklessness Is the First Spark” was a campaign to prevent forest fires from Croatian Agency CTA. It met SDG Goal 15 Life on Land.
The night itself was one of the award schemes most magnificent. “The GWA has never seen such an enormous LED screen and accompanying light and sound show,“ commented IPRA Secretary General Philip Sheppard, “Each award had its own live trumpet herald. Our Serbian hosts Avala, Smart Vision and Blumen have done us proud.”

IPRA welcomes all those within the profession who share its aim and who wish to be part of the IPRA worldwide fellowship.
The annual IPRA Golden World Awards (GWA) initiative, established in 1990, recognizes excellence in public relations practice worldwide in a variety of categories. Recipients of the award take particular pride in the recognition granted to their entry as meeting international standards of excellence in public relations. An overall IPRA Grand Prix for Excellence is presented each year to the entry judged as representing the highest standards that year. While there are many national and regional PR awards, there is only one truly global scheme: the GWA
