Governor Bago Bags NIPR Award of Excellence

The Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has recognized Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago with an award of excellence for his outstanding connection with the populace.

The award was presented by Alhaji Mohammed Dattijo Usman, a fellow and former National Vice President of the institute, who also serves as the Federal Commissioner for the National Population Commission. The presentation took place during a State Executive Council meeting at the Government House in Minna.

Alhaji Usman praised Governor Bago for his administration’s support of the NIPR, highlighting the importance of public engagement in governance. He suggested potential partnerships between the institute and the state government, particularly in improving communication strategies, and urged for increased investment in state-owned media organizations to enhance service delivery.

He committed to collaborating with the institute to revamp state-owned media organizations so they can compete effectively with private sector counterparts.

In addition to the NIPR accolade, the Nigeria Society for the Environment (NSE) also honored Governor Bago for being the first to initiate the Green Economy Summit, where he was admitted as a Fellow of the Society, gaining access to its privileges.

Furthermore, the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (NICE) presented him with an award of appreciation in recognition of his significant contributions to agriculture and development within the state.

Governor Bago’s receipt of these prestigious awards underscores his commitment to excellence in governance and sustainable development initiatives in Niger State.
