Head of Service Flags Off Free Eye Screening for Civil Servants
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, on Thursday flagged off a service-wide free eye screening initiative for federal civil servants.
The screening, organized by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation in collaboration with the Tulsi/Chanrai Foundation, will take place every Thursday, twice a month.
Each session is expected to attend to 200 workers from various ministries and government agencies.

In her remarks at the program’s launch, Walson-Jack expressed concern that many civil servants, due to the demanding nature of their work and office activities, often neglect their general health, including eye care.
Addressing this issue, she stated that her office has prioritized access to critical health interventions.
“The partnership with the Tulsi/Chanrai Foundation aligns with the 6th reform pillar of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021–2025.
“This collaboration underscores the power of partnership in improving health outcomes.
“By offering free screening services and, where necessary, corrective interventions such as prescription glasses or referrals for advanced care, we aim to mitigate preventable vision loss that could adversely impact our workforce,” Walson-Jack said.
