COAS Oluyede Tasks Troops to Redouble Anti-Terrorism Efforts

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has charged officers and soldiers of Joint Task Force North-East Operation HADIN KAI to intensify efforts to end terrorism and insurgency in the North East Region. The COAS gave the charge on Saturday, 7 December 2024, when he visited the Headquarters Theatre Command, Operation HADIN KAI in Maiduguri.

Addressing officers and soldiers of the Operation, General Oluyede stated that he was in Maiduguri to interact and obtain first-hand information about their welfare and challenges with a view to proferring solutions that would boost their morale. He reaffirmed his commitment to providing requisite and essential support to enhance troops’ operational effectiveness in carrying out their tasks to restore peace and stability to the North East. Gen Oluyede urged the troops to remain disciplined and committed to their duties in order to successfully achieve the tasks ahead.

The Army Chief also paid a visit to the 7 Division Medical Services and Hospital, where he met and empathized with injured officers and soldiers undergoing treatment in the military medical facility. He assured them of the Army’s readiness to give them adequate medical care to ensure their recovery. The COAS also inspected the ongoing construction of 7 Division Headquarters Complex, as well as repaired and refurbished combat enablers.
