Arewa Stars Award 2024 Announces Panel of Judges

The organizers of the Arewa Stars Award and Conference (ASA24) have unveiled the members of the panel of judges for the 2024 edition.

The panel, chaired by renowned journalist and public relations expert who currently serves as spokesperson to the executive governor of Kano state, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, boasts a stellar lineup of accomplished professionals in acadamia, media, public service and nonprofits.

The 3rd edition of ASA24, themed “Artificial Intelligence and Sustainable Development”, is scheduled to convene on December 21, 2024. The event is organized by PRNigeria, DAILY NIGERIAN, and Arewa Agenda and will bring together Northern Nigeria’s top impact-makers, philanthropists, and mentors to celebrate excellence and foster conversations around innovation and progress.

Other members of the panel include Dr Auwal Halilu, a lecturer at Bayero University Kano and an expert in adult and non-formal education who will serve as vice chairman of the panel, Adnan Mukhtar; a seasoned politician, academic, and media strategist, and Ameen M. Auwal, an independent filmmaker and Senior TV Producer at Arewa24 who specialises in media communication and behavior change.

Others include; Ameena Ibrahim Idris, a technology enthusiast and ICT trainer, and Aisha Lawal, an Executive Producer of Arewa24 and a leading voice in Hausa language entertainment and cultural promotion.

“The panel of judges have been tasked with the rigorous screening of nominees and the selection of deserving winners across various categories, from the pool of over 400 entries received,” says Mohammed Dahiru Lawal, Convener of the Award event.

The 2024 Arewa Stars Award will recognize 30 exceptional young individuals excelling in various fields of human endeavor and honor mentors, organizations, and philanthropists enabling significant social impacts.

“The judges’ combined expertise across education, media, politics, technology, and community development underscores the commitment of ASA24 to upholding the highest standards of integrity and excellence,” Lawal quipped.

The event promises to combine an inspiring award presentation with entertainment, panel discussions, and networking opportunities for attendees.
