AANI Congratulates Nwakuche on Appointment as Acting Controller General of NCoS
The Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI) has congratulated Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche MFR mni on his appointment as the Acting Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).
In a statement released by AANI National Publicity Secretary, Brigadier General SK Usman (rtd), the association commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for recognizing and promoting merit through the appointment of qualified individuals to key positions. Nwakuche, a distinguished member of AANI, brings over three decades of experience to the role, having served in various capacities within the Nigerian Correctional Service.

Nwakuche, born on November 26, 1966, in Oguta, Imo State, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Calabar and a Master of Science Degree in Political Science (International Relations) from the University of Lagos. He also possesses a diploma in French Language and is currently pursuing a PhD in Security and Strategic Studies.
AANI expressed confidence in Nwakuche’s ability to effectively lead the Nigerian Correctional Service, prioritizing staff welfare and embracing technology-driven solutions. The association urged him to foster collaboration with other security agencies to achieve the service’s core mandate of rehabilitation, security, and justice.
