Image Merchants Promotion Limited (IMPR), publishers of PRNigeria and Economic Confidential, has announced its commitment to leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies to enhance productivity in 2025. This decision was made following a successful annual staff retreat held at the PRNigeria Centre Kano Office.

During the three-day retreat, management and staff reviewed the company’s performance in 2024, addressed challenges, and developed strategic plans for the year ahead.

Dr. Sule Ya’u Sule, Chairman of the IMPR Board of Directors, commended the company for winning numerous awards from national and international professional bodies, particularly in fact-checking and public relations.

“I am proud to note that, as in previous years, IMPR has made the nation proud at prestigious events such as this year’s APRA awards in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, IPRA Golden World Award in Barcelona, Spain, and the Global Alliance’s World PR Award of Excellence in Bali, Indonesia,” Dr. Sule stated.

He also highlighted the successful hosting of events like the National Spokesperson Awards, Economic Confidential Public Lecture, and Security and Emergency Management Awards (SAEMA) and Arewa Stars Awards. Dr. Sule urged staff to renew their commitment to work and explore innovative revenue generation strategies.

Mr. Abdulrahman Abdulraheem, Managing Editor of the Company, noted the significant contributions of staff through publications and books authored this year.

“Among the books published this year are ‘Impactful Public Relations in Customs Management,’ ‘General CG Musa in Peacemaking: Leveraging Interagency and Civil-Military Relations,’ and ‘Youth Service for National Stability: A Corper’s Chronicle,’ among others,” Abdulraheem noted.

He also emphasized the successful establishment of the PRNigeria Centre in Ilorin and the graduation of 30 Fellows from the inaugural Young Communication Fellowship program that also took place in Abuja and Ilorin PRNigeria Centres.

The communique from the retreat was presented by Mukhtar Ya’u Madobi, Staff Writer and Head of Emergency Digest, one of PRNigeria’s sister publications. He explained that through engaging discussions, staff and management identified critical issues and formulated actionable resolutions to strengthen the company’s trajectory into 2025.

“Key discussions included the integration of AI and advanced technology in journalism and public relations for idea generation, data analysis, content creation, and time management,” Madobi elaborated.

Other topics addressed during the retreat included revenue generation and sustainability, operational equipment deficiencies, logistical challenges, staff discipline, performance monitoring, and clarity in roles.

Regarding the resolutions, Madobi emphasized, “The firm has resolved to ethically adopt AI tools to enhance productivity, improve skill sets, and optimize results in shorter timeframes. We will also establish a monitoring and evaluation (M&E) performance system, secure grants, diversify our revenue channels, and implement cost-cutting measures by maximizing in-house talent and eliminating redundant expenses. Moreover, we will define staff roles clearly to ensure optimal productivity and conduct comprehensive retraining.”

In his closing remarks, Deputy Editor Mallam Abdulsalam Mahmud praised his colleagues for their exceptional work throughout 2024. He highlighted the importance of continued dedication and collaboration to surpass the achievements of the past year.

“While we have accomplished much this year, there are still numerous opportunities to explore and challenges to conquer. I urge everyone to double their efforts as we strive to exceed our achievements in 2025,” he concluded.
