NSCDC Arrests 6 Vandals in FCT
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, has apprehended six suspected vandals of public infrastructure during its end-of-year operations across the FCT.
The arrests were made during routine patrols conducted to ensure the safety of lives and the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure during the festive season.
Among the suspects is Salihu Mohammed, a 27-year-old from Jama Local Government Area of Kaduna State, who was caught at Life Camp, Kado, vandalizing armored cables. Another suspect, Mohammed Gaddafi, 28, from Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, was arrested on Yar’Adua Expressway, Airport Road, while vandalizing solar panel poles and FCMB billboard poles.
Also, Musa Ibrahim, 18, from Dala Local Government Area of Kano State, was nabbed on Yar’Adua Expressway in possession of vandalized El-Rufai bus body parts.

Similarly, three other suspects, Suleiman Yusuf (21), Ibrahim Mudassir (27), and Kabiru Sani (22), all from Zamfara State, were caught with items including streetlight poles, bulbs, steel bars, and other materials suspected to be stolen.
Parading the suspects at the Command headquarters, the FCT Commandant, Dr. Olusola Odumosu, commended his personnel for their commitment to safeguarding public infrastructure. He reiterated the Corps’ resolve to eradicate vandalism and warned perpetrators to desist or face legal consequences.
“It is unfortunate that these elements sabotage social amenities provided for the people of the FCT by the government,” Dr. Odumosu said. “We remain resolute in protecting critical infrastructure and ensuring these criminals are brought to justice.”
He added that investigations are ongoing, and the suspects would be prosecuted in accordance with the law. Dr. Odumosu urged FCT residents to assist the Corps with vital information to aid in the fight against vandalism and other crimes.
The recovered items included streetlight poles, perimeter fencing hooks, pliers, shovels, and N13,200 in cash, among others.
The Command affirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order and protecting national infrastructure.
