Police Arrest Delta DPO Killer, Recover Arms, Bust Child-Trafficking Syndicate

The Nigeria Police Force has arrested a notorious criminal responsible for killing a Divisional Police Officer, DPO,  in Delta State. This is just as the force also dismantled a child-trafficking syndicate.

The Force Public Relations Officer, FPRO, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen today in Abuja.

“In a major operation on November 1, 2024, operatives of the Force Intelligence Department’s Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT) arrested Ogaga Dickson, a 35-year-old member of a notorious armed robbery gang.

“The gang was responsible for the killing of CSP Hassan Jega, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Agbarho Division in Delta State. The late DPO lost his life during a fierce gun battle on October 14, 2024, when his team foiled one of the gang’s robbery operations.

“During Ogaga’s arrest, police operatives recovered an AK-47 rifle, an English pistol, a locally made pistol, various calibers of ammunition, and six exotic vehicles. Earlier, four gang members were neutralized during a gunfight at the gang’s hideout,” he said.

ACP Olumuyiwa added that, police operatives had also on December 2, 2024, apprehended a child-trafficking syndicate led by Pastor Dayo Bernard of the End Time Army Ministry in Bukuru, Plateau State.

According to him, the operation led to the rescue of five children aged between 2 and 4, who were abducted from various homes in Jos. The arrested syndicate members include Rita Agboeze, Victoria Ugwu, Nanman Puntel, and Peter Ukwuani.

“Investigations revealed that the principal suspect had abducted and sold 13 children at varying prices. All 13 children have since been rescued and reunited with their families through the Plateau State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.

“Additionally, in line with the Inspector-General of Police’s directive to mop up illicit arms and ammunition, FID-IRT operatives recovered 14 AK-47 rifles in a series of nationwide operations.” He added.
