Nigerian Air Force Experiences ‘Golden Era’ Under Tinubu – Air Marshal Abubakar

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has witnessed significant transformation and growth under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar said.

Abubakar made this assertion while receiving the new Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, Ambassador Gabriel Tanimu Aduda, who was on a familiarization visit to the NAF Headquarters in Abuja.

The Air Chief revealed that the NAF has taken delivery of 14 brand-new advanced aircraft, with 64 more expected to arrive within the next three years.

This development, he noted, has revitalized the NAF’s fleet and enhanced its operational readiness.

“It is therefore no exaggeration to state that the Nigerian Air Force is experiencing a golden era under the current administration,” Abubakar stated.

“I assure you, sir, that the NAF will not relent on the trust reposed on us by Mr. President but continue to consolidate on the operational gains made so far.”

Abubakar highlighted the NAF’s operational achievements, citing the conduct of over 8,665 missions and 9,928 sorties, totaling 15,915 flying hours across all aircraft types between June 2023 and December last year.

These efforts, he emphasized, demonstrate the NAF’s unwavering commitment to securing Nigeria’s airspace and contributing to national security.

The Air Chief expressed his confidence in the new Permanent Secretary, Ambassador Aduda, and his ability to make a significant impact in addressing the country’s security challenges.

He assured the Permanent Secretary of the NAF’s commitment to working closely with the Ministry of Defence to achieve even greater successes in the fight against insecurity.

In his remarks, Ambassador Aduda solicited a harmonious working relationship with the NAF, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in the national interest.
