Aduda revealed that he is already holding meetings to address these deficiencies, drawing from international best practices.
One of the initiatives being considered is the establishment of a mortgage finance scheme for military personnel. Aduda cited the success of the Federal Mortgage Bank, which provides loans of up to N50 million to civil servants.
He suggested that a similar scheme for the military could enable officers to own homes while serving and have a place to retire to.
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, represented by the Chief of Defence Policy and Plans, Air Vice Marshal Sayo Olatunde, welcomed the permanent secretary and his directors during their familiarization tour of the Defence Headquarters.
