Error Bombings: NAF Will Minimize Harming Non-Combatants, Air Chief Assures
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fact-finding team has arrived Zamfara State to investigate the reported civilian casualties in a recent airstrike.
The team which was led by led by Air Vice Marshal Edward K. Gabkwet,was received by Governor Dauda Lawal at the Government House in Gusau, marking the beginning of their fact-finding mission.
The team was deployed to investigate the reported civilian casualties in a recent airstrike, gathering comprehensive information and providing recommendations to prevent similar occurrences.
While receiving the team, Governor Dauda Lawal reaffirmed his confidence in the NAF’s professionalism and commitment to protecting civilians.
Air Vice Marshal Gabkwet emphasized the NAF’s dedication to upholding global operational standards, ensuring the safety and well-being of all Nigerians.

He said the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, pledged the NAF’s commitment to minimizing harm to non-combatants.
A statement by Air Vice Marshal Olusola F Akinboyewa, t heDirector Public Relations and Information, said the team will engage with state and local government officials, as well as other stakeholders, to gather a thorough understanding of the events leading to the incident.
The statement read in parts: “Their findings will inform strategies to improve civilian protection and prevent similar incidents.
“The team thereafter proceeded to Tungar Kara, site of the airstrikes, for an on-the-spot assessment of the situation and environment.
“The vital data and information so gathered will be subjected to detailed analysis and provide key input towards enhancing the NAF’s capacity for protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure in the course of our operations to eradicate banditry and terrorism in the North West.”
