NAHCON Sets 2025 Hajj Fare at Over N8 Million for Intending Pilgrims

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced the official fare for the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage, setting the cost at over N8 million for intending pilgrims across different regions of the country.

The announcement was made following approval from the Office of the Vice President, with NAHCON Chairman, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, emphasizing that concerted efforts were made to keep the fares within a reasonable range.

According to the breakdown in a release by Fatima Sanda Usara of the the commission:

Pilgrims from Borno and Adamawa states will pay N8,327,125.59

Those from the Northern zone will pay N8,457,685.59

Intending pilgrims from the Southern states will pay the highest fare at N8,784,085.59

The pricing was reached after extensive consultations with key stakeholders, including Malam Ameen Amshi, Special Assistant to the President on Special Duties, as well as representatives from State Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards. Notably, Malam Idris Ahmad Almakura, Chairman of the Forum of State Executive Secretaries and Executive Secretary of Nasarawa State Pilgrims’ Welfare Board, along with Alhaji Faruku Aliyu Yaro of Kebbi State and Alhaji Abubakar Salihu of Adamawa State, played active roles in the negotiations.

Collaboration to Maintain Costs

Despite economic challenges, NAHCON officials worked to prevent a significant increase in costs. Professor Usman commended the stakeholders for their dedication, highlighting the Presidency’s support and the contributions of State Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards in achieving a reasonable fare structure.

He urged intending pilgrims to register early and complete payments promptly, warning against last-minute delays that could cause complications. He also reminded them to comply with Saudi Arabian guidelines and regulations for a smooth pilgrimage experience.

For further details and a full breakdown of the fares, NAHCON advised prospective pilgrims to visit its official website (nahcon.gov.ng) or contact their respective State Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards.
