Shape the Future of African PR: Participate in APRA, PRCA’s Annual Study Now
The Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) Africa, in partnership with the African Public Relations Association (APRA), has announced the launch of its fourth annual study, continuing their successful collaboration. This year’s research, conducted by Reputation Matters, will investigate the evolving public relations and communications landscape across the continent.
The study aims to gather in-depth demographic data related to the PR industry while addressing important topics such as ethical practices, the impact of public relations on business, talent management, remote work, and future challenges facing the sector.
PR professionals throughout Africa are encouraged to participate in the survey, which is designed to be completed in just a few minutes, with the assurance that all responses will remain confidential. The findings from the study will be revealed at the upcoming annual APRA Conference in Mombasa, Kenya, scheduled for later this year.
Melissa Cannon MPRCA, the PRCA International Director, emphasized the importance of this collaborative research, stating, “This partnership with APRA offers a valuable opportunity to assess changes in the African PR landscape compared to previous years and to identify challenges that may arise in the future. By analyzing current trends, we aim to gain insights into the industry’s evolution and prepare ourselves for what lies ahead.”

The Spokespersons Digest, a publication of PRNigeria reports that
the survey aims to gather insights from individuals working in the public relations (PR) industry or those with a PR department within their organization. It focuses on two primary objectives: assessing perceptions of ethics in Africa and understanding how the PR profession is viewed across the continent.
Participation in the survey is voluntary and confidential, with responses protected under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). The survey is estimated to take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
