Lake Chad Basin: Defence Chief Seeks Comprehensive Security Approach for Safe Return of IDPs
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has emphasized the need for a unified and comprehensive security approach to ensure the safe return of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the Lake Chad Basin region.
Speaking at the 5th meeting of the Lake Chad Basin Governors Forum in Maiduguri, General Musa called for unity of purpose amongst leaders and critical actors to restore lasting peace in the region.

The meeting was attended by notable dignitaries, including the Vice President of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, and governors from Nigeria, Niger Republic, Chad, and Cameroon.
