At Last, Corpers to Receive N77k Allowance From Next Month – NYSC

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that corps members will start receiving a monthly allowance of N77,000 from February 2025.

This increase more than doubles the current allowance of N33,000.

Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, the Director General of NYSC, made this disclosure while addressing the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II corps members in Katsina.

According to General Ahmed, the increased allowance has been included in the 2025 Federal Government budget and will take effect once the budget is passed.

General Ahmed noted that the Federal Government approved the increase and urged corps members to show gratitude by demonstrating dedication throughout their service year.

He also reassured them of their safety, confirming that they will not be posted to areas with security concerns.

“This month (January) has already ended, but once the budget is passed. By next month (February), you will start receiving N77,000 instead of the usual N33,000,” he said.

He noted that the increment was approved by the Federal Government and urged corps members to show appreciation by being dedicated during their service year.

The NYSC DG also reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare and security of corps members, assuring them that they would not be deployed to communities with security threats.

“We will not send our corps members to wherever we have challenges of security threats. Wherever we send them, they should be rest assured that the place is safe and secured for them to serve,” he stated.
