Police Arrest Terror Suspects, Recover Explosives in Kano
The Kano State Police Command has apprehended three suspected associates of a wanted foreign terrorist in a major security crackdown, following intelligence reports of planned terrorist activities in the state.
The State Police Commissioner, CP Salman Dogo Garba disclosed this information to newsmen today in Kano.
According to him, among the arrested suspects is the wife of the fugitive suspect, Ahmad Adam Abba, a Chadian national accused of orchestrating the killing of 17 people in Chad and attempting to establish a terrorist base in Kano. Other suspects include another Chadian, Jibrin Mohammed, 42, and a Nigerian accomplice.
However, the Commissioner confirmed that the main suspect fled Nigeria before he could be captured, but efforts are ongoing to track his movements.

PRNigeria reports that during the operation, the police also recovered Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), which were seized before they could be deployed. However, investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the suspects’ network and any potential collaborators.
Meanwhile, CP Garba, assured residents that the command is working tirelessly to neutralize security threats in the state.
“We have ramped up our intelligence-gathering efforts and intensified patrols in key areas. Our collaboration with intelligence agencies and local communities is crucial in identifying and preventing criminal activities,” he said.
The police have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to authorities. CP Garba also reassured the public of the command’s commitment to maintaining peace and security in Kano.
