
Military Operations: CCC Calls for Timely Situation Reports
The Centre for Crisis Communication (CCC) has urged the Nigerian military to adopt a more responsive communication strategy, providing regular updates on security operations as they unfold.
While briefing journalist today in Abuja, the Chairman of the Center, Major General Chris Olukolade (Rtd) emphasized the need for timely and accurate information dissemination to build trust with the public,
He said this, will reduce misinformation, and promote transparency.
“The current approach of bi-weekly press briefings is inadequate, leading to information overload and making it difficult for the public to fully comprehend the security situation,” the CCC stated.
Instead, the CCC recommended adopting a communication strategy that includes daily or situational reports, depending on the circumstances or developments.

The CCC calls for timely situation reports is particularly significant, given the importance of accurate and timely information in crisis situations.
“The Nigerian security forces must prioritize precision to minimize collateral damage,” said Maj Gen Olukolade.
He noted that Investing in advanced training and equipment handling is crucial.
His words: “Leveraging technology like artificial intelligence can enhance operational efficiency, It helps analyze data, identify patterns, and predict security threats.
“Embracing technology and innovation reduces civilian casualties and stays ahead of emerging threats,” Olukolade noted.
