As Ramadan Approaches, Saudi Embassy Donates 100 Tons of Dates to Nigeria
As the Holy Month of Ramadan approaches, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Abuja has held an official ceremony to distribute 100 tons of dates to the Nigerian government. This gesture, a gift from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, is part of Saudi Arabia’s annual humanitarian relief efforts.
PRNigeria reports that Ramadan, the sacred month of fasting for Muslims, is expected to begin on February 28 or March 1, 2025, and end on March 27 or 29, 2025. The dates are subject to change based on the sighting of the crescent moon, which marks the beginning of the Islamic month.
The date distribution initiative, facilitated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), aims to support vulnerable families across Nigeria while strengthening the deep-rooted ties between the two nations.
