Ramadan Fasting Commences Saturday as Sultan Tasks Muslims on Devotion, Charity
The Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Muhammadu Sa’adatu Abubakar, has officially announced that Saturday will mark the beginning of Ramadan.
According to the Sultan, the sighting of the new crescent moon was based on reports from various leaders across the country, which were thoroughly verified and authenticated.

He called on Muslims to commence fasting on Saturday and to devote themselves to worshiping Almighty Allah. The Sultan further emphasized the importance of using this sacred month as a time for prayer, urging Muslims to pray for the peace and prosperity of the nation and its leaders at all levels.
Additionally, he encouraged the faithful to extend acts of charity, particularly towards the vulnerable, ensuring that they too can partake in the blessings of the holy month.
