Katsina Police Arrest 144 Suspects, Rescue 105 Kidnap Victims in Major Crackdown
Katsina State Police Command has intensified its offensive against criminal activities, arresting 144 suspects and rescuing 105 kidnapped victims in a sweeping operation across the state.
Speaking at a press briefing in Katsina, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, detailed the command’s latest achievements in tackling violent crimes, including armed robbery, kidnapping, and homicide.

“Within the period under review, we arrested 144 suspects linked to 128 major crimes, including 16 for culpable homicide, seven for armed robbery, 49 for rape, and one suspected informant aiding bandits. Additionally, 47 individuals were apprehended for various other offenses,” DSP Sadiq stated.
The police also neutralized four armed bandits and recovered 13 rustled animals. Among the seized items were four locally made guns, 13 pump-action cartridges, and five motorcycles used in criminal activities.
Reaffirming the command’s commitment to public safety, DSP Sadiq commended the officers for their relentless efforts. “Our success is a testament to the dedication of our personnel. We will continue to intensify our operations to ensure that Katsina remains safe for all.”
The latest crackdown underscores the authorities’ resolve to curb insecurity in Katsina, a state that has grappled with banditry and kidnapping in recent years.
