Adamawa: Troops Foil Boko Haram Attack
In the early hours of Friday, March 21, 2025, troops of the Joint Task Force successfully repelled an attack by suspected Boko Haram insurgents on a military base in Waga Village, Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The attack occurred around 3:30 a.m. and was met with swift resistance from the troops, forcing the terrorists to retreat. No casualties were reported among security personnel or residents, and normalcy has since been restored in the area.
Monguno: CJTF Member Arrested for Fatal Shooting
In a separate incident, a 27-year-old member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), Modu Mallam Gana, was arrested for allegedly shooting and killing two youths while injuring another in Monguno, Borno State. The incident occurred on March 21, 2025, at approximately 6:15 a.m., when Gana reportedly became provoked by a group of youths standing in front of the CJTF office in the Bakin Kasuwa area.
The victims, identified as Ya’zainab Bum and Goni Mohammed Ahmadu, died instantly, while Hamsatu Ali sustained serious injuries and was admitted to General Hospital Monguno. Gana was immediately arrested and handed over to the police for further investigation.

Abuja: Nigerian Navy Officer Abducted**
In the nation’s capital, a Nigerian Navy officer, Lt. Cynthia Ako, and two other individuals were abducted by gunmen in the Mamman Vatsa area along Mpape Road, Abuja. The incident occurred on March 21, 2025, at approximately 7:45 p.m., when four armed assailants opened fire and seized the victims.
The abducted individuals, including Gold Alfred, a resident of Bwari, and an unidentified person, were returning home after visiting a relative in Beggar Quarry, Mpape. A joint search operation involving the Nigerian Army Guards Brigade, the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the FCT Police Command, vigilantes, and local hunters has been launched to locate the victims.
