MAJOR SHAKE-UP: IGP Deploys 38 CPs Nationwide
In a sweeping reorganization aimed at bolstering security and operational efficiency, the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the deployment of 38 Commissioners of Police (CPs) to various state commands and specialized formations across the country.
The restructuring, which prioritizes intelligence-driven policing, includes the posting of nine CPs to state commands and 29 to key police formations.
Among those assigned to state commands are CP Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba (Zamfara), CP Bretet Emmanuel Simon (Taraba), CP Christopher Ado Emmanuel (Yobe), CP Olusegun Eyitayo Omosayin (Cross River), CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman (Niger), CP Sani Omolori Aliyu (Bauchi), CP Bello Shehu (Katsina), CP Saka Adewale Ajao (Federal Capital Territory), and CP Ojo Adekimi (Kwara).

According to a statement by Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, the move is part of broader efforts to enhance police effectiveness, address security challenges, and promote a more community-oriented approach to policing.
“In addition to these State Command appointments, the deployment also includes the posting of 29 CPs to various police formations. Each CP has been tasked with implementing tailored security strategies that address the specific needs of their respective jurisdictions,” Adejobi stated.
The IGP has charged the newly appointed CPs to prioritize intelligence-led policing, strengthen crime prevention measures, and uphold the highest professional and ethical standards in their operations.
This latest development underscores the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to ensuring a proactive and responsive security framework across the country.
