We Recapture 5 Kogi Fleeing Inmates – NCoS
Five out of the 12 inmates who escaped from the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Koton Karfe, Kogi State, have been recaptured as authorities intensify efforts to track down the remaining fugitives.
The jailbreak occurred on Monday, March 24, 2025, when some inmates tampered with the locks in one section of the facility, gaining access to the outside. Security forces were immediately deployed to secure the prison and launch a manhunt for those still at large.
The Acting Controller General of Corrections, Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche, coordinated efforts with local security agencies and Kogi State officials.
