According to FCT Police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, the suspect was caught with two 25-litre jerrycans filled with palm oil, which were used as cover for the illicit ammunition.
“Acting on intelligence, our officers, in partnership with NURTW, tracked and apprehended the suspect on March 24, 2025. Upon interrogation, he confessed to being recruited by Yakubu Kachalla, a resident of Funtua, Katsina State, who allegedly paid him ₦100,000 to transport the illegal cargo from an unidentified contact in Nasarawa State to Katsina,” Adeh stated.
She emphasized that the FCT Police Command remains committed to dismantling arms smuggling networks and ensuring the safety of residents. Investigations are ongoing to track down Aminu’s accomplices and unravel the full extent of the operation.
