Northern Women Rally Behind Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, Warn INEC Over Recall Plot
A coalition of prominent women from Northern Nigeria has voiced strong support for Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, urging the Senate and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to tread carefully over moves to initiate a recall process against the lawmaker representing Kogi Central.

In a statement released in Abuja on Sunday, the Northern Women Front, led by Hajia Rugayya Suleiman, expressed concern over what they described as political intimidation targeting women in Nigeria. The group warned INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, against facilitating what they called a “rapid and questionable” recall attempt.
“Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan is a power of strength and a woman of great moral integrity,” the statement read. “The recent campaign against her is part of a disturbing pattern of male politicians waging political wars against women in Nigeria.”
The group also condemned the recent verbal attack on former Education Minister, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, labeling her critic a “despot” and “public relations disaster.” Without naming the individual
