Eid-el-Fitr: COAS Hosts Luncheon for Troops At FOB Faskari in Katsina, Reiterates Army’s Core Value

Still in the spirit of Eid-El-Fitr Celebration, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede on Monday, 31st March 2025, hosted a special Eid-el-Fitr luncheon at Forward Operation Base, FOB Faskari in Katsina State where he had sallah luncheon with the troops.

Represented by Commander Infantry Corps, Major General Abdul Khalifa Ibrahim, the COAS reiterated his dedication to the troops’ welfare and combat readiness and reemphasised the importance of upholding the core values of the Nigerian Army, including the spirit of sacrifice, commitment, and dedication.

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) commemorated Eid-el-Fitr with troops at the FOB Faskari in Katsina State, reaffirming his commitment to their welfare and combat readiness.

He called on the troops and other Nigerians to imbibe the true spirit of the Ramadan fast in their daily lives.

He said “by spending Eid-el-Fitr with these brave men and women, the COAS aims to boost their morale and reassure them of his commitment to their care.”

The COAS’s reaffirmed commitment to welfare and combat readiness is a welcome development, as it underscores the importance of supporting the troops who risk their lives to protect Nigeria.

Despite these successes, he acknowledged the sacrifices made by fallen and wounded soldiers, urging troops to remain focused and vigilant

Earlier, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 8 Division and Commander Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Brig.-Gen. The Commandant, 17 Brigade, Katsina, Brigadier General B. O. Omopariola expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff for the opportunity to host the event.

He reaffirmed the Brigade’s commitment to promoting the core values of the Army and ensuring continued success in the fight against banditry.
