Gov. Sule Reiterates Commitment to NIPR’s Varsity Project, Hails Neliaku’s Leadership Qualities

The government of Nasarawa State has reiterated its commitment to ensuring that the first world University of Public Relations and Leadership (UPRL) comes on stream in 2026, saying the State has the capacity to fix all necessary requirements by the Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC) for take-off of the project.

Governor Abdullahi A. Sule while receiving a delegation from the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) on a “Thank You Visit” in Nasarawa State on Monday said a lot can be achieved within 18 months in terms of infrastructure and other facilities that will enable matriculation of first set of students of the University in November next year.

Commending the leadership qualities of the NIPR President, Governor Sule expressed deep excitement that Nigeria has won the hosting right for 2026 World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) and conveyed the State’s interest in supporting the event.

“I can stay here and listen to Dr. Ike Neliaku all day without being bored because he knows his onion, he’s a professional and he goes to the point. He has the content and sense of commitment. I always love to sit down and watch his interviews and I am always excited while listening to him. I think he is one of the best Presidents ever, as far as NIPR is concerned”, he stated.

Ealier in his presentation, the NIPR President, Dr. Ike Neliaku explained that the purpose of the visit was to appreciate the government of Nasarawa State for supporting key developmental initiatives of the Institute.

“Your Excellency, NIPR is committed to making Nigeria proud and this is partly because of the level of support from people like your. Just recently, the Institute won the bid to host the World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) in 2026. One of the things that counted in our favour was our decision to bring to fore, the nexus between public relations and leadership through the establishment of this unique sector-based university, which you have graciously agreed to host”.

With the establishment of the University of Public Relations and Leadership (UPRL) and hosting of Wold Public Relations Forum (WPRF) in Nigeria, the nation is expected to attract positive global attention.
