Zamfara Communal Clash Claims One Resident as Security Guard Kills Suspected Thief in FCT
A series of violent incidents across Nigeria have left several people dead, with clashes in Zamfara, a fatal stabbing in Niger State, a domestic homicide in Sokoto, and a case of brutality in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), PRNigeria learnt.
According to Zagazola Makama, a security expert, a deadly clash broke out in Zamfara state on April 1, between members of the nomadic Fulani and Hausa communities at Dan Sokoto Model Primary School in Bungudu Township during the Eid-El-Fitr celebration.
Intelligence sources revealed that the altercation resulted in the death of 17-year-old Abbas Sani, a resident of Kuga Village. He was found in a pool of blood and rushed to General Hospital Bungudu, where medical personnel confirmed his death.
As part of the effort to nip the crisis in the bud, security forces conducted an intensive raid, leading to the arrest of 15 suspects.
Meanwhile, in Niger State, another tragic incident unfolded in Baburasa Village, where a teenager was stabbed to death during a dispute over a girlfriend. The fight began between 15-year-old Ragai Dike and 14-year-old Kefas Monday before escalating when 25-year-old Sunday Baba, a friend of Kefas, intervened.

It was gathered that Baba allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Dike in the chest. The victim was rushed to General Hospital in New-Bussa but was pronounced dead on arrival. Authorities have since arrested the suspects, and investigations are ongoing.
Similarly in Sokoto State, a domestic dispute turned deadly on April 2 in Sagera Ango Village. Ali Garba attacked A’isha Araga with a cutlass following a heated argument, inflicting severe injuries on her neck and body.
Security personnel responded promptly, rushing her to General Hospital Gada, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Garba was arrested immediately, and the case has been transferred to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation Department (DC CID), for further investigation.
Also, in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), a suspected thief lost his life after being brutally beaten by a Man O’ War officer in Karu, Abuja, on April 2.
Police sources reported that a distress call was received at Karu Division around 1:00 p.m. regarding a suspected thief near Supreme Quarters. The suspect attempted to flee but was apprehended by civilian security personnel.
Kola Oba, a Man O’ War officer, allegedly took custody of the suspect and subjected him to severe physical assault, leading to his death. Police detectives documented the scene, and the body was moved to the hospital mortuary. The suspect’s identity remains unknown, while the officer involved has been arrested.
