NSCDC Raids Illegal Mining Site in Nasarawa, Arrests 3 Chinese Nationals
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has dismantled a heavily fortified illegal mining site in Rafin Gabas, Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, arresting three Chinese nationals involved in illicit mining operations.
The operation, led by the NSCDC’s Special Mining Marshals, was intelligence-driven and strategically coordinated to infiltrate the site, which had reportedly been under the protection of compromised security personnel.

According to the Special Mining Marshals Commander, Assistant Commandant John Onoja Attah, the team successfully stormed the illegal mining hub despite attempts by some suspects to escape with the aid of colluding security operatives.
“This marks a major milestone in our relentless battle to sanitize the mining sector. We remain committed to dismantling and arresting illegal mining cabals, ensuring that perpetrators face justice,” Attah said.
Following the raid, the illegal mining site has been sealed, and a manhunt has been launched for the fleeing suspects. Attah also confirmed that investigations are ongoing to expose those behind the illicit operation, including any security operatives found aiding and abetting illegal mining.
The NSCDC has pledged to sustain its crackdown on illegal mining activities nationwide, warning economic saboteurs to desist or face the full weight of the law.
