Alhaji Kankara also commended Governor Dikko Umaru Radda for hosting ten foreign ambassadors during the 2025 Eid celebrations, noting that such high-level diplomatic presence not only projects Katsina’s cultural wealth to the international community but also fosters potential avenues for foreign investment and partnerships.
The Kanwan Katsina was among the traditional titleholders who joined the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji (Dr.) Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, CFR, in leading the colorful Durbar procession. The two-day event featured vibrant displays of traditional regalia, ornately adorned horses, and massive turnouts by residents and visitors alike.
The first day of the Durbar, held on Sallah day, drew participation from Muslim faithful across the state, while the second day was marked by a traditional homage to the Government House, where the Emir and his entourage paid their respects to Governor Radda.
Among the dignitaries in attendance was the Bulgarian Ambassador to Nigeria, Yanko Yordanov, along with nine other ambassadors and their families, hosted by the state for the cultural showcase.
The Kanwan Katsina was accompanied by all Village Heads in Ketare District, members of the Ketare District Council, and his close relatives. This year’s celebration also marked his 25th Durbar appearance since his turbaning in the year 2000 by the late Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Dr. Muhammadu Kabir Usman, CFR.
