Man in police net for killing daughter as gunmen raid Kaduna community, abduct residents

Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 52-year-old man, Kamoru Ojo, for allegedly beating his 27-year-old daughter, Shakirat Ojo, to death and secretly burying her in a shallow grave within their compound, PRNigeria reports

The incident occurred on March 26 at their residence on Oshinlemo Street, Afromedia, Ojo, but was only reported on April 3 following a distress call to the Okokomaiko Police Division.

Homicide detectives who visited the scene exhumed the body and transported it to a public morgue for autopsy. Police confirmed that the suspect is in custody as investigations continue.

Meanwhile, in Taraba State, suspected Tiv militia members launched a deadly attack on a farmland in Wukari Local Government Area, killing two young men on Friday morning.

According to Zagazola, the victims, 21-year-old Masandi Moses Bulus and 19-year-old Mikhima Moses Basungyu—were reportedly shot dead while working on their farm in the Mecapacynth area.

Police disclosed that the assailants, one of whom wielded an AK-47, fled the scene before security forces could respond.

The victims’ remains have been deposited at the Federal University Teaching Hospital, Wukari, as authorities deploy security operatives to prevent further violence.

In a separate incident in Kaduna State, gunmen carried out a night raid on a Fulani settlement in Dusten Bako Village, Zangon Kataf LGA, on April 3. The attackers abducted an unspecified number of residents under the cover of darkness.

Security agencies have since launched a manhunt to track the perpetrators and secure the release of the victims. No group has claimed responsibility for the kidnapping as of press time.

These incidents underscore the persistent security challenges plaguing communities across Nigeria, sparking renewed concerns over public safety and the need for strengthened law enforcement efforts.
