EASTER: Defence Chief Salutes Troops’ Sacrifice, Reaffirms Committment to National Security, Peace

As Nigerians mark the Easter festivities, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has used the occasion to spotlight the steadfast role of the Armed Forces in safeguarding the nation, even as he paid homage to fallen heroes and wounded warriors.

In a goodwill message to troops and citizens on Thursday, General Musa described Easter as a season of hope, courage, and renewal—values, he said, that mirror the everyday sacrifices of Nigeria’s military personnel.

“Through their courage, discipline, and sacrifice, our troops daily live the essence of Easter. Their resilience in the face of adversity keeps Nigeria strong,” he remarked.

The Defence Chief acknowledged the weight of the ongoing security challenges facing the country but expressed deep confidence in the capacity of the Armed Forces to rise above them. He emphasized that professionalism, unity, and unwavering dedication remain crucial to achieving lasting peace and stability.

Paying tribute to military personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty, General Musa urged Nigerians to remember their bravery and uphold their legacy.

“This Easter, let us remember our fallen comrades. May their courage inspire our collective commitment to a secure and united Nigeria,” he stated, also extending prayers for the quick recovery of injured soldiers and comfort for their families.

General Musa further commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his consistent support of the Armed Forces, describing the Commander-in-Chief’s leadership as pivotal to the military’s ongoing operations and reform efforts.

He concluded by praying for divine guidance, strength, and protection for all security operatives during this reflective season.

“As we celebrate Easter, may we all draw inspiration from its message and renew our pledge to serve with honour, integrity, and commitment to the nation,” he said.
